Happy Holidays!!!

This was our gingerbread creation for this year. We decided to do a gingerbread sleigh. Everyone was pretty creative though. There was a temple, a lighthouse, and a christmas tree. We always have so much fun with this tradition.

We love you all and hope you have a wonderful Christmas holiday.

Happy Halloween!!!

So its been a while since we have updated, but to be honest not a lot has been going on. We both have been so busy with school we don't really do a lot.

As far as this past week goes though we have participated in some fun Halloween activities.

This was at our ward Halloween party. We decided to go as bacon and eggs.

Then for family home evening we decided to go to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk with some friends. We had a blast!!! Here are a couple of our favorite scenes. And Yes they are all made of pumpkins.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

4th of July Weekend

I LOVE THE MONTH OF JULY!!! July always reminds me of boating with my family, going to movies, hiking, BBQ's in the backyard with homemade ice cream and fireworks. This last weekend was just that. Since July 4th landed on a Saturday this year Cody and I got the Friday the 3rd off. With Friday off we decided to make reservations to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house with my family that afternoon.

Friday evening we went to go to the Eagle Wood Golf Course Fireworks. We are so grateful for the Edwards family for feeding us and lettings us watch the fireworks from their backyard. We had the most perfect view.
Grandpa and my nephew Luke

Kimberly and my other nephew Lincoln

This was taken with our camera on fireworks mode... It reminds me of lightening!

Saturday Cody went golfing with is brother, father and best friend Zach. That evening Cody's dad BBQ some stakes and we had a wonderful dinner with his family. After dinner we went and got Baskin Robbins ice cream. For those of you who love mint we would strongly suggest getting the ____ mint ice cream it was amazing. Cody and I then watched a movie with his parents and had a great evening.

Sunday was my niece Katelynn's baby blessing so we spent the day with the Droge family to celebrate. This is my sister Michelle and baby Katelynn.

I just noticed I need to take more pictures of the fun times we have with the Gunnell family, but we love our family and are so grateful for the fun weekend we could spend with them.

My Free Flowers

So working on campus has its pluses. I got these beautiful flowers for free. Today we were planting flowers over the biotech building. There was this really beautiful yellow flower that I really liked so I asked my boss JaLene what it was called. I cant remember what she said its name was but she I could take is and plant it later that afternoon. She also said that when when we go to plant it later that she could talk to Brian (he is the boss over the planting crew on campus) to see if he had a couple extra I could have to pot up with my yellow flower to make a nice pot. My boss JaLene is way cool like that. She always is doing amazing things for us, whether its trying to get flowers for me, or buying us hot chocolate on a cold day, she is just so generous and sweet like that. She always wants us to be happy while we are working. She is great!! Anyway, when we went to the green house to talk to Brian about a couple extra flowers he told JaLene that we could basically have all kinds of flowers. They were extras that he no longer needed so he told here she could take as many as she liked, to a point. So JaLene asked me what flowers I would like in my pot and then taught me how to pot them up. It was way fun and way easy. JaLene later told me that I had about $50 worth of plants in my two pots. We didn't even touch the amount of extra plants that Brian had in the green house. JaLene also gave me a little Roma tomato plant a couple weeks ago. Its like my little baby. It has 4-5 little green tomatoes on it. Im no gardener but I love my plants and love working on campus. Thanks JaLene and Brian.

Cody's The Man!!!

We, as you know, got a Wii a couple of weeks ago. We got this great deal on a Wii for only $120. Well the Wii worked great but had this extremely loud humming noise. It was so loud that it was distracting. It sounded like a spaceship taking off. Anyway Cody did some research online to figure out what we could do. Since it was used, the warranty was gone so it was either take it in and have someone look at it for $90 or buy this 88 cent screwdriver from Hong Kong and fix it yourself. Nintendo products all have a certain screw type in all their products that require a "tri-wing" tip. These screwdrivers cannot be purchased at any retail store so we opted to order one from the Chinese.

Cody found on YouTube how to take the Wii apart and how to fix the loud noise. I guess what he found was that a screw right above the power button was screwed in too tightly and was applying too much pressure to the disc, thus creating the lawnmower noises.

We hadn't checked the mail in a few days and when Cody took out the trash, he checked the mail. Lo and behold the package from Hong Kong was in the mail. We now had a Sunday project. Cody set up our kitchen table as if he was about to perform surgery. I'm still confused if he wants to become a surgeon or engineer.... anyway, he began carefully/nervously taking apart our beloved Wii. I was scared!! I love the Wii!! I didn't want him to break anything!! I mean, how much can we really trust YouTube??? After a few nervous minutes, the Wii was disassembled and hopefully the pictures and video will describe everything.

The operating table!

The guts of the Wii

video

Cody had to stick a little piece of tape it there as well to hold the plate up! Go engineers!!!

We no longer hear ANYTHING!!! I have to look at the little green light to see if its even on now. So my husband as nerdy as he is... IS THE MAN!!!

I'm A Teacher

About a month ago one of my good FACS friends told me about a FACS teaching job opening in the Box Elder School District. A couple of weeks went by and I finally decided I should turn in my credential file. After turning my application in I waited another couple of weeks before I heard from anyone.

Last Friday I got called by the principal from Box Elder Middle School to come interview. So yesterday Cody and I drove down to Brigham City. Cody stayed in the car while I went to my interview, I just wanted him there for moral support. As I walked in there were 4 people who were going to interview me. The position was for a full time FACS teacher but the job would be part middle school part high school. I felt the interview went well but I also felt that they were looking for someone who was more qualified for the position. Someone who had had experience for a couple of years perhaps at both ages. I walk out thinking that that was a good experience but I wasn't what they were looking for.

After work today I got a call from the principle of Box Elder Middle School. I thought he was going to tell me that they had filled the position but thanks anyway. Well as I talked to him those words never came out. Instead he offered me the position. I asked if I could talk it over with Cody before I accepted. Cody and I talked it over and decided that this position is exactly what we were looking for. So I called Mr. Sparks back and told him I would love to accept the position.

I cant even explain the feelings that I have right now. I am so excited, nervous, thankful, and relieved, but I do know one things... The Lord really does answer prayers.
